ALAN JOHNSON

Alan has over 40 year’s law enforcement experience in the UK in the public and private sector. He was a fully trained Senior Investigating Officer within one of the largest Police Forces in the country and was responsible for implementing major changes in the investigation of serious crimes within this Police Force. He was also responsible for developing and resourcing a completely new ANPR Unit. During his time with the Police, Alan also specialised in the planning and implementation of Royal visits, VIP escorts and armed category A prisoner movements. He also received 19 commendations for courage, tenacity and excellence in policing.

Alan has a strong record for delivering modern and up to date change programmes, operational excellence and effective investigations at all levels. His strengths include devising and applying integrated and innovative solutions, securing engagement in culturally diverse and organisationally challenging environments to achieve sustainable change. 

The focus of Alan’s department is to provide results for his client’s aimed at solving the problems that they face. His experience extends to providing a key role in the delivery of modern technological security services, covert investigations and providing valuable advice to the financial, retail and private sector clients. Resulting in significant stakeholder and public confidence, whilst achieving outstanding results in crime reduction. 

Alan joined PWG in early 2011 as a Control Room Manager and after just twelve months took up the position of Special Investigations & Security Manager. He was promoted once again in 2013 to Operations Director.

Hobbies outside of work?
only one, LFC!

Who inspires you?
My Dad always inspired me – he was up every morning at 4am, was never later for work and never had a day off sick – but he still wouldn’t wake me up for work – always instilled in me it was my responsibility to get up for work.

Favourite place visited?
Anfield and Washington DC.

Memorable moment at PWG?
The arrest and conviction of the ‘expert’ who imported gas attacks on ATMs to the UK. After an ATM attack that contained one of our trackers, the most prolific organised crime gang from Liverpool responsible for conducting nationwide attacks we’re brought to justice’.
